Under the Dawn Redwood – Night 22

Night 22 – Rong ShouTian

Gang Cheng stared uneasily at the paperwork in front of him. He’d already arrived at the busy office space that he’d almost called home for the past 20 years. He never wanted to admit it though. Whenever Mo Chou had accused him of having an external affair because of how often he was at work, even if it was just to verify other’s projects or even observe budding inspectors or designers in their small company, he was really just sitting here in this office. Even if there wasn’t work expressly lined up for him, Gang Cheng dutifully searched for any type of work, often having more than one night where he’d either stay late or not go home at all. It was only the day before he’d spend time with Hui Yin that he’d go home at a reasonable time. Continue reading “Under the Dawn Redwood – Night 22”

Night 21 – It’s Been A Year

Gang Cheng relaxed an arm around Feng Mian’s waist, feeling her wrap her arms around his chest. They spent a few evenings like this, sticking close to each other on the bench in his courtyard. It was a little uncomfortable when the heat was too strong, but now that the weather was beginning to cool Gang Cheng appreciated her affection. Continue reading “Under the Dawn Redwood – Night 21”

Under the Dawn Redwood – Special: Father’s Day

Special: Father’s Day

Gang Cheng paced uneasily in the waiting room at the hospital, nervous as he chewed on his fingertips. Both his mother and his father were elbowing each other, trying to coax the other to calm down their worrying son. Finally, Gang Cheng’s father stood up, walking with a slight timidness to his son. Night 20 – If You Believe Me

Li Shu glanced back at Paul, a wry smile on his face when he’d noticed his husband’s expression. He knew of his husband’s bad habit of jealousy, but he’d not had the real-life consequences on his mind in a while.

“Paul, are you alright?”

“I’m fine, just thinking is all.”

“What are you thinking about?”

Night 19 – Not a Beast

Gang Cheng found it strange that he was so comfortable, even with the light intimate hugs and kisses to Feng Mian’s lips. He’d never felt this way with his ex-wife, nor any other girl he’d dated for any period of time when he was in college. It was like her lips were soft, sweet pillows; irresistibly perfect. He almost couldn’t stop kissing her, needing to keep his naughty, itching hands in check. He was disgusted at his contradictory statement earlier.

What time to adjust? What kind of discomfort had I ever felt around her? How blind was I? Need time? Bullshit! It’s… It’s now or never, right?

Gang Cheng moved Feng Mian to face him, his eyes bright and eager. Just as he was about to open his mouth, the phone to his room rang. Continue reading “Under the Dawn Redwood – Night 19”

Night 18 – I Like You

Gang Cheng stood in his wet pajamas, water droplets landing quietly onto the carpet. His eyes were like saucers, his pupil contracted to a speck. His breath quickened and his palms began to sweat.

Drip. Drip. Drip.

Plop. Plop. Plop Continue reading “Under the Dawn Redwood – Night 18”

Night 17 – Li Shu Arrives

Li Shu stared up at the large plane in front of him, as intimidating as it was he felt his heart palpitating in excitement. He was returning home. His husband, Paul, a middle-aged like himself, stood at a rather impressive 193cm tall, completely dwarfing the much smaller Li Shu. Le Shu had a very youthful appearance, being no taller than 168cm, round cheeks and a bright smile on his face. He was persistent in taking care of himself, and thanks to his good genes and diet kept himself trim with nary a wrinkle to show for his real age of 39. First! Sorry about the fact my last few posts haven’t had the Read More Tag applied! I forgot and was just either too tired in the end, or even too excited. ๑•́ㅿ•̀๑) ᔆᵒʳʳᵞ

Night 16 – Tomorrow Comes

Gang Cheng stared at the computer in front of him. It was his laptop that he had ordered the weekend before. Today was Friday, and as expected, Song Men returned home in one piece with his dutiful wife and his two children. A little ball of disappointment bubbled up inside of Gang Cheng’s chest when he saw Gang Cheng’s daughter Song Huan. It wasn’t fair, it just wasn’t fair. He had clenched a fist when he saw her, though after he took a few breaths he’d calmed down. Continue reading “Under the Dawn Redwood – Night 16”
