Siege in Fog Chapter 13.4

Announcement April 2018

Hello there, readers! With kind permission from Tranzgeek, I will be moving those chapters that I’ve translated over to my own blog. The chapters will follow the new chaptering so do expect some changes in terms of the chapter numbers (as talked about previously). To simplify the process, links here will point to the Contents Page at my blog.

Thank you for your likes, comments and support all this time and do drop by hiding in plain sight if you have time!

  1. PJC: 1 YLK:0 || no matter what happens, no matter what Zhu Ma says, I still hate YLK. PJC managed to pull my heart against him and now I completely understand why he is doing all those things.

    1. Yes, Ma’am.
Jianchi has lost almost everything and has every reason to hate the warlords. 😥
But if he wasn’t able to elope with Qin Sang back then, I suppose their affinity wasn’t strong enough. Which is quite interesting since in the trailer, Qin Sang says something along the lines of how life has no second chances and the one you meet earliest is the one you end up with.

        1. Siege is not a new novel but until now readers still argue over the book. The pace is not everyone’s cup of tea but it rewards multiple readings.

  2. Hey do anyone knw if the drama is out? Its supposed to be out on 25th. And also whatever happened to that painter kid who had a thing for QS?

    1. I read that they’re still having copyright issues with the author. The drama was supposed to air on December but was moved to July. Tencent who was supposed to air Siege in Fog on July 25 did not release anything. So they’re probably going to move the release date and announce it soon if everything goes well.

        1. 25 June was really a rumour that was given legs by fans’ hope. I would probably wait until they announce the outcome of the lawsuit. I don’t think anything can go forward until that is resolved.

  3. I’m still on the YLK boat like PJC he might has his own reasons for being cruel. PJC is a hypocrite doing the same thing as YLK–using people. It’s terrible enough that he tossed QS away in the past but now he is doing the same thing to another poor naive girl–most likely use her up then leave her. Also if he really cared that much for QS he should’ve eloped with her instead and not make excuses. I don’t think this PJC is as sincere as he makes it seem he has some questionable motives. From the last chapter, YLK has no proof but I think he has a clue on what kind of relationship QS and PJC may have so he doesn’t trust PJC entirely. He probably leaves PJC with her on purpose at times to confirm his suspicions. YLK is not stupid, he didn’t confront her about their relationship yet but he would at least question about why QS would faint after meeting the young miss and PJC. Being pregnant can’t be the only reason.

I’m going to wait and see if YLK confess about anything because I don’t want to make assumptions based on what the other characters said or believe is true.

    1. Everyone makes use of everyone else in this book. But that is the world they inhabit. If he doesn’t want to make use of anyone, he can’t advance his agenda and it doesn’t mean he won’t be made use of in turn.

Yep, but sometimes I think he may have done it also because he didn’t want Pan Jianchi to follow him on his official business.
Wait and see is good. Especially when things get confusing.😉

      1. The manipulation game is strong in this novel. Got to admit at first I liked PJC but now he is corrupted too. YLK would have been perfect if he wasn’t so secretive and have multiple agendas. Personally, I think YLK is a pretty smart character. He comes off as cold, cruel, and crazy but it could be a bluff inside he is very calculative and analytical.

  4. How come it looks like the drama is already airing in the Vietnamese stations? I am confused! Or is that brief preview?

    1. ❔ It is? I don’t know about that, sorry. How long is the video? If it’s a full episode, it will probably be at least 40m.

      2. Yes. It was at least 40+ minutes. It said episode 1 & 2. I also found episode 27, 49, 50. Go on YouTube and type in Siege of fog. It’ll pop up in Vietnamese writing.

-Kya ! this chapter was hot and cold we wittness for the first time about YLK worrying so much for QS! I hope this scene will be filmed she made me screaming with joy!!
-PJC is a realistic chinese revolutionary in that era. in the trailer he says that :”In this life if you want to purchase something you have to sacrifice another” and it is true because his family was killed by warlords because he want to make a family in a peaceful world he sacrified the woman of his life to attain this goal he knows that the means are dispectibale but he know that his not a hero and he is paying the price by looking at her with another treating her badly and in his arms you cant hate him and you cant love him either

    1. Keke, the drama will be more romance-friendly. 😉
Ay, it’s quite hard to hate him here. The same wheel of fortune that brought Liankai’s mother and Papa Yi together separated Jianchi and Qin Sang who had a lot more in common.

  6. I knew PJC was going to play the “had to do what I gotta do but still I love you” card. But i give credit to the guy who at least is honest with his feelings

    1. I’m glad he actually said something about his motivations and feelings otherwise he was in danger of coming across as a cardboard cutout…
