The water bottle handed to Han Qilu was the same one he just threw away.

Discussion suddenly ruptures.

“Is Master Hanyu deliberately arguing with Master Qilu?”

“They aren’t quarreling about An Chuxia serving them water?”

“Oh my god, this news is so hot. I want to take photos and send it to Moments!”

“Hanyu!” Xiao Mingluo quickly steps forward and tugs on Ling Hanyu’s jersey.

Ling Hanyu shrugs. “Just kidding. I”m leaving now.”

“Wait!” Han Qilu stares at Ling Hanyu.

An Chuxia stands there for a while, not knowing what to do. What’s with the scent of gunpowder in the air? She doesn’t want to be the source!

“Han Qilu, we… .”

However, Han Qilu interrupts An Chuxia midway. “Let’s talk.”

She couldn’t immediately respond since she’s unaware to whom he’s referring.

“Okay,” Ling Hanyu responds first before walking out. The crowd parts and gives him way.

Han Qilu walks out immediately, but none of the fanatics dare follow.

“What are they going to do? What’s happening?” An Chuxia is a a little anxious, so she can only ask Xiao Mingluo.

He looks at her, relieved. “I just told them to go out and talk. Don’t worry about it.”

“Yes, Chuxia.” Meng Xiaonan comes over. “The Hans’ car should be at the school gate, right? Let’s get you there first.”

Soon, the couple watches An Chuxia get in the vehicle, and Meng Xiaonan immediately starts to voice her worries. “You mean Ling Hanyu likes Chuxia, right?”

Xiao Mingluo glances at the parked vehicle. “Isn’t it unexpected? However, Chuxia is beautiful and smart, and her temperament is different from ordinary girls.”

“Of course, how can my Chuxia be like ordinary people?” Meng Xiaonan just becomes a little prouder before her mood drops. “But what if Chuxia started liking Ling Hanyu while Han Qilu has lost his memory? Chuxia and Qilu haven’t been the same. Would it really be impossible for her to be with Hanyu?”

Xiao Minglu reaches out and taps Meng Xiaonan’s head. “Don’t worry about that too much. Worry about us. The weekend will be here soon.”

At that moment, Han Qilu’s figure appears at the school gates. Meng Xiaonan looks behind him, but she doesn’t see Ling Hanyu.

“Qilu,” Xiao Mingluo says first. “Where’s Hanyu?”

“He’ll be out in a while. I’m leaving first,” Han Qilu says, walking to the car stoically.

The couple clearly sees a small bruise on the right corner of Han Qilu’s mouth. It isn’t until Qilu gets into the car when Meng Xiaonan suddenly screams. “He wouldn’t have killed Ling Hanyu, right?”

“What are you thinking?” Xiao Mingluo glares at her, but the worry in his eyes can’t be concealed.

They are about to check on Hanyu, when they see him emerge. Ling Hanyu’s face is injured, his clothes are also damp but he looks very cheerful. He doesn’t have any scars on his body.

“Hey, do either of you have money? I didn’t drive, and I don’t have the money to take a cab back.” Ling Hanyu steps forward cheerily.

“What happened between the two of you?” Xiao Mingluo looks at him dubiously, while Meng Xiaonan eyes him with curiosity.

“What’s a grown man like you doing gossiping? Don’t change the subject and lend me some money.”

Just as Ling Hanyu’s voice falls, a figure suddenly appears. “Master, a driver is coming for you.”

He looks at Meng Xiaonan, before the couple leaves one after another.

“Oh my god, how can that person change instantly?”

Seeing Meng Xiaonan’s silly look, Mingluo helplessly shakes his head. “There isn’t instant change in this world. Let’s go. I’ll take you home.”

“Send me home?” Meng Xiaonan is stunned. He usually calls a cab to take her home.

“Aren’t you a bit anxious… .” Meng Xiaonan looks a little embarrassed. “What if my mother kills you?”

“She won’t. I’ve already contacted your home,” he calmly says. “Get in the car. It’s almost time you’re expected.”

“What?! You’ve already contacted them?” Just as she says in panic, he drags her to the car and drives her away.

The atmosphere in the Han car is much heavier than the one in Xiao Mingluo’s. Steward Han didn’t come, so the couple is left alone with the driver.

An Chuxia hesitates before saying, “What happened to the corner of your mouth?”

“Nothing, it just got hit.” With a fist.

As soon as An Chuxia asks, Qilu immediately recalls the matter with Ling Hanyu.

As soon as he and Ling Hanyu arrive on the emptly playground, Ling Hanyu directly punches him before speaking, causing the corner of his mouth to bruise. Cursing, he says, “This way, when I pursue An Chuxia in the future, I won’t feel as guilty.”

Before he could fight more, the idiot trips over something and falls to the ground as he backs away. No one knows who left behind the melted ice cream, but the incident leaves his clothes dirty.

Han Qilu just says one statement to Ling Hanyu. “It’s your business chasing her, but don’t destroy the future of our friendship.”

Ling Hanyu is outspoken, but Han Qilu doesn’t dare tell Ling Hanyu that he has since recovered his memory. It seems this is the only way he can speed up his investigation.

Back at the Han residence, dinner was ready, but Han Qilu goes to his room to take a bath. Then, he starts to leaves without any explanation or having any dinner.

“Brat, where are you going?” Jiang Yuan shouts at Han Qilu’s back. He ignores her as he takes off.

An Chuxia glances at the direction he’s leaving before deliberately asking, “Mommy, how do you use this apple cutter? Show me.”

When she looks up again, he’s gone.

After returning to the room, she is about to turn in when her phone on the table suddenly rings. She picks it up and looks at it. She discovers there are six missed calles. All of them are from Ling Hanyu.

She hesitatles before pressing the answer button. “Hello, Hanyu.”

“Chuxia, come to the balcony and watch.” Ling Hanyu says excitedly.

She walks suspiciously to the balcony, and all she sees is emptiness and darkness, except for the lamp on the lawn. She has no choice but to say, “I see nothing.”

“No, I mean, look at the sky!”

An Chuxia looks up. A few stars litter the sky. It looks random, but still, it looks special.

She hears Ling Hanyu’s voice again. “It’s rare to see such bright stars in the sky in the city. Next time, I’ll take you to the mountain village to see the stars. When I’m in a bad mood, I look at the stars, and then, I feel better.”

An Chuxia curls her lips and say, “You watch a lot of Korean dramas, right? And I’m not in a bad mood.”

“You aren’t?” He pauses before continuing. “I should’ve said these things to you last night, but I didn’t call you. I’m making sure I make up for it today and say it.”

Yesterday…

An Chuxia is taken aback. Yesterday, Xiang Mankuai went to Han Qilu. She’s still in his heart, and it really felt uncomfortable.

“Thank you.” Her statement is sincere.

“Thank you? If you really want to thank me, then promise me you’ll accompany me to see the stars in the small mountain village in the next few days,” he says.

An Chuxia hesitates momentarily. When she was a child, she would snuggle in her mother’s arms and watch the stars, and to this day, she misses that.

“Okay.”

“You agree?” Ling Hanyu asks again, incredulous. “You’re really agreeing?”

She chuckles. “If you ask me again, can I change my mind? If there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up. I still have to brush my teeth and clean up.”

“That’s right. Your face today looked like someone who just gave birth. Go brush your teeth and wash your face before going to bed.” He hangs up without waiting for her to respond.

The moon isn’t out tonight, and despite the stars shining brightly, it doesn’t compare to the moon. Han Qilu walks through the dark night on the gravel road heading to the orphanage in City B. His feet hurt as he walks through the cobbled stones. There is a street lamp far away on the gravel road, making it look strange.

Not that far from him, a little light suddenly appears.

“Dean?” Han Qilu steps up and asks.

Han Qilu is shocked when he is boldly approached. The man carrying the lantern is old. Half of his face is covered with scars which seem like to be caused by fire.

“Sorry, did I scare you?” The old man laughs. His eyes are kind. “Is that you, Master Han? Why are you here again?”

Han Qilu has been here more than once. He got to know about the orphanage when he was trying to find out about Xiang Mankuai and her visits. The dean told him every time that there was no one by that name who’d come to visit.

“Because I want to figure out the truth.” Han Qilu stares at the man with piercing eyes.

“The dean is already asleep. I’ll invite you in for a cup of tea.”

Han Qilu knows the old man is the dean’s father. When he was young, he didn’t know what happened to his face. He has a hard time speaking.

The room is small, but clean.

“This is honeysuckle tea, to help reduce anger.” The man busies herself for a while before delivering the steaming cup.

“Thank you.” He takes the cup but doesn’t drink it. “Would you happen to know if someone named Xiang Mankuai has come over?”

The old man’s height is not very high, and with his hunchback, he stands almost as tall as Han Qilu sitting.
