Here’s the rest of what shl submitted- a super poetic and creative take on the whole story~
Thank you shl so much for sharing your works with us! I really appreciate all of your hard work and all of your really creative ideas with this haha.
Limerick 1:
There once was a guy named Ji Bai,
A bachelor, for none caught his eye.
Till one day he met
A young girl, who set
His heart racing whene’er she was nigh.
Limerick 2:
There once was a lady named Xu Xu
Who moved along ever so slowly.
When Ji Bai made her run
And train with her gun
That’s when Snail caught Lion securely.
Poem:
In the depths of Lin City a murderer stands,
Poised to unfold his nefarious plans.
Should he poison? Or shoot? Or slash them all?
Whatever he chooses, he’ll have a ball.
His first outing doesn’t receive much buzz,
He’s not made a name for himself with the fuzz;
His second makes headlines, but, still, they say
“Our police will nab him in a matter of days.“
His third! Oh, my, that’s when it begins,
The nickname bestowed on him: ‘Collector of hands’.
He laughs as he looks on his collection with glee,
There’s no way now he’ll sink into ignominy.
But, wait! Over there! What’s that I hear?
A formidable roaring comes loud and clear.
Everyone looks and cheers all abound
As the Lion and Snail both ride into town.
The Snail thinks deeply about our murderer’s psyche:
His character, tendencies, and targets most likely;
The Lion’s keen eyes take in all the clues,
His brain makes connections and he starts to muse.
With information most certain and theories most sound,
A cunningly drawn trap is set, and all settle down
To wait out the time for the moment of truth –
Will he? Won’t he? May all things run smooth. . .
And then, success! Let’s give them a hand!
The Lion and Snail have got their man.
In silence he hides and remains inscrutable,
But he cannot stand up to their facts irrefutable.
As they ride off companionably into the sunset’s deep glow,
The Lion says solemnly, “Snail, do you know
How much I love you?” She gives him a wink,
Saying, “Let’s go home and prove it, so I don’t have to think.”

Thanks for the kind words, Geeky, but these are not ‘real’ poems, just a whole lot of fun to do! Hopefully others will give it a try, too.
